You are the person doing the hands-on work. You create initiative records, build the business case, execute the workplan, keep financial data current, and track whether the initiative delivers on its promises. This course takes you through each stage of that lifecycle inside the App.
The course follows the five-stage governance lifecycle: Idea, Plan, Execute, Realize, and Complete. A shared introduction explains how the stage-gate process works across all roles. Each lesson focuses on what you do at one stage. You will learn how to create an initiative and submit it for approval during the Idea stage, how to build a complete business case using the Charter, Impact, and Roadmap tabs during Plan, how to manage your workplan, RAID items, Forecast updates, and the Initiative Team Dashboard during Execute, and how to validate Actual results against your original projections during Realize and Complete.
Each lesson includes screen recordings demonstrating the workflows step by step, with on-screen reference material. This course takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
To earn your completion, finish all seven lessons. A feedback survey is included at the end of your Learning Path, and we welcome your suggestions for making this course more useful.
The Shibumi University catalog includes additional Investment Governance courses for the Transformation Team and Workstream Team. Understanding how your approvers approach the governance process can help you build stronger business cases.
